Grandma has traced this line back to Thomas Nelson Sr. of either Scotland or England. We don’t know much else about him except that he had a son named Abraham Nelson who had a son named Thomas Burton Nelson. He was born 6 July 1767 in Orange Co., North Carolina and was married to Martha Williams on 7 May sometime between 1786 and 1796. Their son Edmond was also born in Orange Co., North Carolina and married Jane Taylor in 1820 in Monroe Co., Illinois. They were the parents of 13 children, the first being Price William Nelson.
Price met his wife Lydia Ann Lake while crossing the planes as pioneers with tthe Thomas Johnson Company. They also had 13 children.
Samantha was the second and she was the second wife of Warren Marshall Johnson. Together they had 10 children. Samantha, Warren and his first wife Permelia lived, for many years, at Lee’s Ferry. They were called there on a lifetime mission. Just two years before Warren’s death they moved to the Bighorn Basin in Wyoming. After Warren’s death most of his children and both of his wives moved back to Southern Utah. Samantha and Warren’s daughter, Mattie, stayed behind with her husband Richard Carl Neves. They raised their family of 11 in Burlington, Big Horn, Wyoming.
Lucy Alice Neves is their daughter and still lives in Lovell, Big Horn, Wyoming. She is now 101 years old.
